Dangerous Contract

Moskabel-Fujikura, Moscow fiber optical cable manufacturer, uses the services of the "MOSPROM" center for support and export development for about a year.
One of the most recent export deals of Moskabel-Fujikura was a contract with an Argentine mining company. "Winning the competition brought us money, but at the same time there were many new issues that needed to be resolved quickly," says Viktor Petrikov, head of the foreign economic activity department at Moskabel-Fujikura.
"WINNING THE COMPETITION BROUGHT US MONEY, BUT AT THE SAME TIME A LOT OF NEW QUESTIONS ..."
It turned out, for example, that the Argentine company does not conclude a contract, which is usual for Russian enterprises, with prescribed rules for delivery, acceptance and resolution of problems. Instead, there is a huge document called "Rules and Definitions", which is suitable for the procurement of any product.

"Well, the lawyer of the Mosprom center drew our attention to the fact that, in case of any problems, only we are to blame according to their document",
Petrikov continues. "We refused to sign it and prepared our own agreement, which we concluded as a result".
