Electric transport is conquering the world. According to experts, by 2030, 31% of new cars to be sold and 20% of the global car fleet will be electric. What trends will this bring to our cities?
Charging infrastructure. Today Russia has a significant shortage of electric vehicle charging stations, but the number of those will grow. For example, up to 300 charging stations may appear in Moscow by 2023.
Environmental friendliness. It is the concern for the environment that makes electric transport more and more popular, but the associated infrastructure is also becoming more environmentally friendly. For example, the V2G (vehicle-to-grid) smart charging technology allows not only charging electric vehicles from the public grid, but also returning electricity back.
Smaller electric vehicles. The compact one-passenger city car is easy to park and easy to maneuver, so it will become more popular in metropolitan areas.
Synchronization. Every year, there are new devices to synchronize transport, from navigation&information to entertainment systems. They will become more intelligent and more comfortable.
Micromobility. An electric segway, an electric scooter, an electric wheelchair are the means to avoid traffic jams moving quickly to switch from one mode of public transport to another, or cover a long distance without assistance.
Rental networks. City automatic bike and scooter rental networks have already covered five continents, and the number of sharing companies will only grow.
